cold harbor, fissure, divide

On a gray winter day, I stopped at Montrose Harbor in Chicago to admire the city skyline. Then I changed my perspective and looked down around me to see the water, snow and ice on the ground and discovered these images.

cold harbor, fissure, division is a triptych made up of three unique images that were taken during the same time period. This offers the viewer an expanded visual and emotional experience of that time and place. The palette is white with a steel blue that feels as calm as that day, while smooth flat areas and organic shapes transform snow and icy water into abstractions.

Digitally printed on metallic photo paper, the vibrancy of these prints are ensured for many years to come.
